Those who know our family will likely know that we sold our home back in July. We are currently living in my mother’s house while we wait for our new home to be finished. When I put it that way, it sounds a bit glam, doesn’t it? But the reality is that we are simply converting a very large garage on the farm into a house. While I am sure that I will find a way to glam it up, our new house is definitely an eccentric hodgepodge project. We will have to be creative to stay within our budget. (For a gold-medalist thrifter such as myself, these are exciting times.)
All of our precious belongings are in storage, which I think would be hard on our whole family were it not for the fact that my mother and I have very similar taste. Living in her house has been easy on our kids, who are so familiar with the rooms full of peculiar antiques and overflowing red rugs.
2016 brought a lot of change for our family. And more challenges than I care to list.
But it seems that I am finally ready to start writing again, not because I can (seriously, I will have to use Hermione’s time-turner to create an extra hour in the day!) but because I must. I’ll do it because I have to do it in order to take responsibility for my own joy. And that’s that.
I also scored a lovingly used camera from a talented photographer friend. You’ll have to bear with me as I learn how to use it. Cheers!
